Eric's 50th!!!

So....the boys wanted to have a surprise party for Eric's 50th birthday. (50!!! Can you believe ERIC is 50? Thank God I'm not there yet!).

Soooo..we planned this BIG party, but knew we could not get away with it because he would know *something* was up. Soooo.....we told him we were having a "wedding shower" for Tyler & Bailie. Everyone invited knew that's what Eric thought was going on. It was GREAT; those that brought gifts (he got TWO walkers and a potty! LOL!) had everything wrapped in wedding paper. He kinda/sorta figured it out, when it was all of OUR friends showing up, and not many of Ty & Bailie's friends, and none of Bailie's family. Oh well; it was FUN! We BBQ'd Tri-tip and chicken, had lots of food and LOTS of beer (we STILL have LOTS of beer!) and had a GREAT time. Matt & Marnie, some of our motocross friends from California even came, and they had recently been in Texas for motocross, and somewhere (not sure if it was there or another state along the way) picked up some REAL fireworks. So we had the fireworks like they have at the big shows; the mega-waaaaay-up-in-the-sky-exploding-bursting-fireworks. So we'd lit off maybe 15 or so, when Eric noticed a car's lights coming down the road (we live on a 3 mile long dead end road), so he told Jordan to wait before he lit any more to make sure it wasn't a cop. Well....it was. He drove into the driveway, down to the house. There were over 50 people in the back yard. He walked up, and everyone (well mostly; some had not even noticed!) was quiet, and said: "Those fireworks are illegal; you could go to jail for just possessing them, let alone lighting them. IF you're going to do illegal fireworks, the LEAST you could do is INVITE the cop to come watch!". I yelled "IT WAS JORDAN!". Eric asked "you wanna see some?". He said "You have more?! Yeah, I wanna see them!", and stayed while we lit the rest of them off. ONLY in Bonanza! He must have got a call as soon as he got in his car, because he had his lights on before he even got out of our driveway and was hauling ass out of here!

Pictures are of Eric BBQ-ing, and the kids riding the PowerWheels and Tucker on his quad.
