Saturday on the Oregon Coast
It was cooler today and sprinkled this afternoon. We went through Depot Bay today; on the way to Lincoln City. Had breakfast there then went on to Lincoln City shopping at the outlet mall. I got some of the CUTEST outfits for Jess and the new babe. And a couple pair of *really* cute capris for me at Gap. Then we came back to Newport and went to the Marine Science Center, then to the Oregon Coast Aquarium. Fun; I took some pics of fish; skates, and sharks. Those skates are downright FREAKY. Their lips look like HUMAN LIPS. Totally CREEPS me out. For real. I'm swear, I'm gonna have freaking nightmares tonight.
The beach here in front of our hotel is nice; a nice long sandy beach, but the walk DOWN is incredible. It is 90 steps down. That was easy, going down, BUT going up showed just HOW out of shape I am. I swear, by the time I got to the top my thighs were like quivering jello. I didn't think I was going to make it back up! It was AWFUL!!! It was only by sheer determination and will that I made it up; I DID NOT want to embarrass poor Carson by crawling up, or worse; having him carry me.
Yikes; I need to get into better shape.
Being here also really made me miss Nic; the last time I was here was with him. Sitting at dinner tonight, looking at the ocean and seeing guys flying those huge kites, brought back happy memories of being here with my Nicholas.
