I took Friday off, and Carson & I went to the coast for the weekend. I'm looking forward to just playing and hanging out. Oh, and the eating and shopping's not bad either.
We had a great day Friday; went to the Wax Museum, Ripleys Believe it or Not; and the Undersea Gardens. Carson bought a skim board and wanted to try it out, so we walked down to the beach from our room. By the time we got done doing the "touristy stuff" and on the beach, it was freezing! 52 degrees AND the wind blowing! I was cold just taking pictures; and there he was with nothing on but swim trunks and in the water! After he had a warm shower (& I had a cold beer), we went to Quimbys for dinner, Carson has his 2nd & 3rd bowls of clam chowder for the day, I had heaven. Actually, according to Quimbys, I had Spinach and Artichoke Stuffed Portobello: Cream cheese, sautéed spinach, artichokes, onion, roasted bell peppers,roasted garlic, bleu cheese, fresh herbs, baked, with an Oregon berry demi, AND Chef Mike’s Steamer Clams: 1# of steamer clams in a broth of white wine, lemon, tomato, green onion, lots of garlic, chili flakes, butter, a touch of cream and garlic bread for dipping. OH MY; it was WONDERFUL.
